Slash original fiction #1
Author’s Note: okay all- this is my first original fic ever, so please be kind. Also, I’ve always pictured Louis as being French, but I don’t speak a lick of it, so please forgive any gross misunderstandings or misuses of the French language or culture. Also this is SLASH so stay away if you don’t like it.
CHAPTER 1
Louis
Louis stepped carelessly onto the ramp following his flight’s arrival at Gate C6, so lost in thought he almost tripped over the poorly placed wheelchair that seemed to have jumped in his way. His pink trousers had wrinkled slightly over the course of his day-long trip, and he unconsciously attempted to smooth them as he walked out of the terminal. Glancing around cautiously, he attempted to locate anyone fitting the description that had been emailed to him last week- ‘Short blonde woman, probably wearing stilettos, with an average looking boy of about seventeen years, and a small girl with blonde ringlets and dimples’. Scanning the crowd of people gathered to greet the arrivals, he noticed only a large group of Asians crying and welcoming each other boisterously, and several lost-looking pre-teenagers, searching frantically for an absent guardian. None even remotely matched the description of his host family. Sighing slightly, he sank to the ground, leaning against the wall as he prepared for a long wait before his (hopefully) inevitable pick-up.
What had possessed him to apply for this program anyhow? Besides the obvious perks of a free stay in the states, and the possibility of reinventing himself, he really couldn’t recall his reasons for applying. Oh wait- it was probably to get the hell away from his mother’s new boyfriend, who had been eying him lecherously for a few weeks now. His mother most definitely had a talent for picking up losers, and this one was no exception. He couldn’t see any other choice but to leave the country, to get as far away as possible until this one left like all the others did.
Wallowing in self-pity, he scarcely noticed the frantic looking group coming up the escalator. Taking a second look, however, he realized that they matched his information. Standing quickly and gathering all his bags, he smoothed his hair and his pants once again before walking to greet his new ‘family’.
Daniel
“Goddam it!” his mother yelled for the fifth time in as many minutes. “Why won’t these tourists get the hell out of my way? I’m late, we are so late. That poor boy must be worried sick. And so confused. And tired, probably. Oh shit, he probably already hates us...” his mother continued to babble nervously until he couldn’t help but tune her out. Daniel was tempted to pull out his headphones, but he had a feeling that his mother was so high-strung right now that it would probably get him grounded for a week. The brisk pace was obviously beginning to get to Emily, so he scooped her up for a piggy-back ride. His sister clung to him as he attempted to keep up with the stiletto-ed wonder that was his mother. Reaching the terminal, his mother checked the arrival monitor for the gate number, and then started her speed-walking again. Lagging behind slightly- damn, his sister really wasn’t a baby anymore-she’s practically a cow- Daniel struggled to catch up as his mother veered slightly toward the gate. From behind his sweaty bangs, he could see a pale boy sitting against the wall near the door to the ramp. The boy was odd-looking, with light blonde hair, dressed in pink pants and a light blue polo. His ratty converse stuck out like a sore thumb, looking a little worse for the wear. Getting closer, Daniel could see that his eyes were a clear, and rather pretty, shade of grey-green. Holy shit, he’s a fucking prep- and he’s rather queer-looking too. I hope Adam doesn’t beat his ass too bad. Asshole... Preparing for introductions, Daniel stepped forward, holding out his hand in a way that he knew would make his mother beam with pride.
