Standing in the War

Bombs explode

Bullets fire

Never show it

When we tire

Standing up

Whole day long

Can hardly see

Through the throng

Footprints left

Where we have marched

Voices sore

And throats are parched

Wandering around

Keeping out of sight

Its chaos out there

In the dark of night

Stuck standing

With nowhere to go

When this will finish

We do not know

Christmas is past

Easter is near

Yet still we stand

Here in fear

Men have fallen

Friends have died

Yet none of us

Have ever cried

Standing here

We’re losing hope

Wondering if

We will ever cope.

Hello again

we had to write a poem for history...

we are doing the first world war, mainly about life in the trenches and the tactics, that sort of thing lol

So there it is lol
