Friday 10:00 pm

Lily Martin arrived at Emily’s house; she was meeting the other girls there and then they would walk over to Nick Calahan’s. Nick Calahan always threw the wildest parties and there was never any place to park. And since Emily lived closest to him, they decided to make that their meeting place.

Emily answered the door and looked Lily up and down, “Sizzle, sizzle…the girl is hot!” She said with her biggest grin yelled for the other girls to hurry up. Emily was wearing a short jean skirt with a tight, black t-shirt. Cady was wearing a loose skirt and a striped green top. Sierra was wearing dark jean capris with a shirt that said, ‘Don’t copy Me.’ Lily was wearing light colored jeans that hug low on her hips and she had layered a dark blue tank top over a white one.

10:15 pm

The girls arrived at Nick’s house only to find the place totally swamped with people. They walked into the living room, which had the strong smells of alcohol and cigarettes.

Dan came up to greet the girls, “Hey you guys.” He said before he turned to Sierra and kissed her, “The beer is on the deck.” He said with a nod toward the back door. He turned toward Lily and pointed at her, “Reid will be glad you came. I know he was looking for you earlier.”

Lily smiled on the inside but did not want to seem as though she was only there for Reid…even though she really was there for him. She glanced around the living room, hoping to see Reid.

Emily noticed Lily searching, “Maybe he is outside. Let’s go check.” She told her and pulled Lily to follow. Cady stayed behind with Sierra and Dan.

11:30 pm

Lily had become depressed when they still had not found Reid. The girls had given up and assumed he had gone home. She drowned her sorrow in the alcohol and was on the brink of completely trashed. She climbed onto the dining room table and started dancing to the music the DJ was playing. She swayed her hips to the beat and people around her clapped and some girls even joined her. She felt someone tapping her leg so she kicked her leg to make it stop.

“Lily.” Someone called up to her, “Come here.” The familiar voice said to her. She did as told and came face to face with Reid Garwin.

He led her down a long, skinny hallway and into a foreign room. She looked around and noticed that it was a bedroom. “Why did you take me away from the party? I was dancing!” She drunkenly shouted at him.

“Jeez, don’t get your panties in a twist.” He told her.

She giggled and tapped his chest, “What panties?” She kicked her shoes off and stood on the bed, “You know what Mr. Garwin?”

“What?” He asked as he began walking towards her.

“You and I should be together. You know why? Because I am madly in love with you.” She rambled and jumped on the king size bed.

“Really?” He said. Reid was obviously not drunk; in fact, he had not drunk any alcohol all night. He stopped walking once he reached the end of the bed.

“Yes. And I was totally jealous of Kayla Myers when I saw her kiss you in the parking lot at the gym.” Everything she was feeling was pouring out of her mouth. She walked to the edge of the bed where he was standing. She threw her arms around his neck and passionately kissed him. He put his arms around her waist and kissed her back. He could taste the beer on her lips. She pulled him down on top of her.

12:00 am

Emily saw Reid walking towards her with Lily walking next to him. She laughed when she saw how Lily acted. “Should I take her off your hands?” She asked Reid.

“You might want to take her home. She has drunk way too much for her size.” Reid told her. His hair and clothes looked askew and his hair was a mess; Lily looked very similar.

“I bet she shouldn’t even be drinking. I think she is still on pain killers for her arm.” Emily told him and then noticed their appearances, “What were you two doing?” She asked him with a smile.

Reid rolled his eyes, “Just take her home. And tell her I’ll call her tomorrow or something.”

“Do you have her number?”

“I have connections.” He said and walked off into the crowd.

Saturday 2:00 pm

Lily only woke up an hour ago and she had a splitting headache. She took a couple aspirins, dressed in sweatpants and a tank top and went down to the kitchen. Her mom was sitting there with her boyfriend, Jon Donahue.

“Looks like you had a rough night,” Jon said to her as he sipped a cup of coffee.

“And what were you doing last night, young lady?” Her mom asked her.

“It’s none of your business.” Lily grunted to her.

“Excuse me, Missy, but I am your mother and I asked you a question.”

“You can’t even call yourself a mother. I have barely seen you all week.” Lily yelled and stomped out of the house, slamming the front door.

She sat on the front steps and looks up at the sunshine. School was almost over for the year and that would mean that graduation was approaching fast. She could not wait to leave. She did not want to leave her friends but definitely wanted to leave her mom and Jon Donahue. He did not like her, but she also did not like him. Her and her friends would be separated. Lily was going to Yale, Cady was going to Rutgers, Sierra was going to Yorke, and Emily was going to UCLA. They would all be in different states.

Lily got up off the stoop and walked down the street to Starbucks. At the front door, a boy she recognized said she had some good table dancing. When she walked inside, a group of boys, whom she did not know, said they would pay her if she started dancing on the Starbucks tables. She had no idea what they were talking about so she just shook it off. She ordered a drink and walked back outside when it came. She sat on the bench in front of her favorite clothes store, Dots. Lily smile when she saw Reid walking her way.

“Hey.” He nodded at her, “Got a headache perhaps?”

“Um, yeah I do.” She said and smiled, “Quick question, was I dancing on a table last night by any chance?”

“Yup, some other girls joined you.” He told her, “Do you not remember anything from last night?”

“Nope, I kinda guessed that part because the guys in there said I have good table dancing.” She shrugged.

“Really, Nothing at all?”

“Nothing at all. Did something happen to me? Oh God, did I embarrass myself?” She said and slapped her forehead.

“No, but you confessed your love to me.”

“What a second! I do remember now! And then we made out for like a long ass time!” She shouted which made two elderly women look at them.

He rubbed the back of his neck, “Yeah we did.”

She smiled at him and how he was visibly nervous, “Well, I must go now, but I’ll take another make out session anytime. Preferably, not one where there is heavy drinking.” She told him and stood up in front of him.

Reid laughed at her, “Would you wanna be like my, uh…” He started and trailed off. He couldn’t get the words out.

“Be your?”

“Girlfriend. My girlfriend.” He finally managed.

Lily smiled up at him. She noticed his hazel eyes shine in the sun, “Yeah, I’d like that.” She told him, “I really do have to go. I kinda yelled at my mom before I left and if I don’t go home soon it will be off with my head.”

He laughed, “Okay. I’ll call you later.” He kissed her lightly on the lips before she turned around and walked away.

5:00 pm

Lily showed up at Emily’s house, calling an emergency meeting of the girls. She walked up the stairs to Em’s room and barged through the door. “Great news!”

“What?” Cady looked over at her from the desk chair.

“I am now the girlfriend of a total rock star!” She shouted and jumped happily.

“You and Reid…are together?” Emily asked slowly.

“YES!!!” She yelled while shaking Emily by the shoulders.

“What would happen after graduation between you two?” Sierra curiously asked.

“I don’t know. We just made it official like a couple hours ago.” Lily said and plopped down on the bed.

“You’ll be in Connecticut and he will still be here. He’s already in college,” Sierra pointed out.

“And with you two apart, there will be plenty of times to cheat!” Cady chimed in.
