- Prolouge -

How exactly she stumbled into the locker room way past school hours wasn’t the first thing he thought of asking her. In fact, he thought nothing of the strange circumstances during which she’d found him until days later. But then again, he wasn’t in any position to ask. No one who’s sprawled on the floor slowly bleeding away really is.

“Oh my god, are you okay?”

She was suddenly right there on the floor next to him, touching him where it hurt. He winced slowly and she released the pressure from his arm. Long, sleek fingers unraveled the bloody handkerchief from his wrist and a pair of hazel eyes looked into his eyes in some sort of worrying fashion, which he hadn’t really seen any of since middle school.

“Listen, I’m gonna get you some new tissues for your arm. Stay right there.”

She disappeared from his side and he missed her warm hands on his body. She didn’t even touch him like anyone else, because everyone else hurt him, but she did her best to be gentle with him.

When she came back, she had three fresh tissues for his wrist, but it wasn’t bleeding as much anymore so she just put one on and held her own hand around his wrist for pressure.

“I’m gonna put your hand up to stop the bleeding.”

He nodded, which was the first sign of response he’d given her so far, and this made her continue talking.

“You’ve got pretty long fingernails for a boy, you know.”

He didn’t respond, because all his energy was focused on looking at her hand holding his wrist. He liked her hand. It fit around his wrist perfectly, in the small crease between his wrist and hand she had placed two of her fingers and they seemed to melt into his body. He didn’t even care that it hurt.

“I don’t really know why I said you have long fingernails. I’ve eaten like lots of candy and then I get really hyper and say the weirdest stuff.”

And so she smiled. And he felt a piercing shot through his chest as he lied there and knew that he loved her.

A/N: This has been in my head for the longest time and I've just now been able to get it out on paper. Review?
