Seeing through another’s eyes,

I look up at endless skies

Clouds gather there, to my surprise

It took me a moment to realize

What was once a warm, gentle scene,

Was quickly changed as snow sprinkled down.

This was the work of the ice winter queen,

I knew that winters death had finally come round.

I looked at the icy snow,

I knew where I had to go,

Stepping out, myself to show,

I could hear the water flow…

The trees through the forest were drenched with ice

Mounds of snow glittered like piles of jewels

This really is a sort of frozen paradise…

I thought to myself “I’m a fool”

The cold, it didn’t kill this place!

It covered it with sky-fallen grace

The icy river formed patterns of lace

But I was still cold in this snowy embrace.

I quickly stepped out onto the river of glass

Peace fell over me as I looked into the sky

Then the ice cracked, and my life came to pass…

Now winter tells the story of my goodbye.

Now that’s my story, and I say to you

The pretty winter decor you should view!

Out onto the ice, as beauty you pursue…

So come! Maybe you’ll join me too...
