Dues

I spend hours daydreaming,

Of my knuckles red,

With the blood from your nose,

Get off your high horse,

You’re not him,

You never were,

You never will be,

You’ve said you’ve paid your dues,

Haven’t I?

Hasn’t every one of us?

You’re no better,

You were just the lesser of the evils,

You’ve earned nothing,

Not even respect,

You hide from responsibility,

You cower at the thought of labor,

Why are you still here?

How do you put on a mask everyday?

You know the truth,

What we think of you,

Why won’t you change?

Why can’t you do what you are paid to do?

We can’t keep doing it for you,

This can’t continue,

You have not paid your dues,

Your highness,

You have not even begun.
