Chapter 1 "The Begining"

One day as my friends Katherine, Alexis, and I were walking around our neighborhood, which was made up of five subdivisions. We were talking about the usual subjects of school, other friends, and of course boys. What eles are you to expect us to talk about, kitty cats and puppy dogs. "Yeah, he's in my math class," mentioned Katherine. Katherine is the one that is the most boycrazy of the three of us. Though I would have to say i'm the second. Alexis has never been much of a boycrazy person in my opinion. "Oh, I don't know," Alexis added.
"Well, excuse me for talking," I said.
"No, its not like that, its just he's well...ugly," Katherine said.
"You always say that" Alexis and I practically screamed at her.
"Yeah, I know," she said scarcastically.
We were now discussing a person in my Science class his name was Zac. He was the guy i liked, and Alexis and Katherine were implying that i could find someone better. I was disagreeing with him. Though he was in band too, and Alexis agreed with that being ok, but of course as usual Katherine didn't agree. She never agrees with the guys I like.
"You people are so mean to me and about who I like," I yelled at them. "I know," Katherine said.
Alexis said, " Hey, I didn't say anything but that i didn't know, but i did agree with you about him being in band"
"Yeah, thanks for being so nice about it Alexis, but i can't say the same about Katherine," I told them.
"Well lets change the subject now I am getting tired of talking about this," Alexis said.
"Yeah," Katherine and I said together.
"Ok, then what about Katherine and her obsession with Connor?" I asked, "Or may i say OCD." "Laura, I thought u said you would stop saying that," Katherine asked me.
"Well I don't want to," I answered.
"But you promised," Katherine whined.
"Ok,ok I'll stop," I said. Though little did Katherine know, I was going to tell Connor on Monday. I had always told Katherine that I was going to tell him and the last day of school was next Tuesday, and he still didn't know about the thing we had made up called OCD, and for us OCD ment Obessive Connor Dissorder. I was telling him on Monday and no one was going to stop me. It had been a whole year of hearing all about Connor every day, and it had gotten on my nerves to many times. I was tired of it and I would most liklely have to hear about it all summer, but if i told him i would have the enjoyment of knowing that she did not know that i told him. It was going to be a good day on Monday. "Hey, if your going out with Chris, won't he be mad if he finds out you like Zac," Alexis comented after a while.
"No, he won't because I told him about it and he said he would understand if I changed my mind and just wanted to be friends," I told them.
"Oh, ok," they said together. I knew though that they did not like my answer or they didn't believe me, but it was all true. I did tell my boyfriend about Zac, my boyfriends name is Chris and the way we hooked up all started when we weren't able to go to band one day. My band friends and me were walking outside on the track, and Chris and his friend Shane came over, they were only walking by, but I saw as they were walking by that Chris was looking at me the whole time. After they had walked by us a little bit more Chris had turned around and followed right behind me, I knew something was up when he started to walk right by me, which by the way was kinda weird because he is a whole lot shorter than me. The thing was that I had no longer liked him, because i had liked him at the biginning of the year, and him acting like this was really weird to my friends and me, but it got weirder. While he was walking next to me he said to me:
"Laura, will you go out with me?" I couldn't believe the answer that came out of my mouth, but I said:
"Uhhh, sure"
All of my friends just stoped in their tracks and gaped at him and me. Then I realized what I just did and I ran down the track, and Chris followed me. I still can't figure out what happend after that but the next thing I knew I was on the ground, When I finally came around and opened my eye's the first thing I saw was that weird old Zach Pardue and Chris. I was in shock my friends told me later, they also told me that Zach saved my life. I couldn't help thinking, why couldn't it have been Chris, but then I relized that he was running after me and if I had fallen he would be behind me not in front of me, so i was ok with that but I still couldn't believe that Zach Pardue, the clarinet player, Zach Pardue. It just seemed impsiable to me. That could not be the Zach I knew, Then when I asked him he proudly said:
"Why yes I did, aren't you proud of me"
"But why?" I asked him.
"You know I keep asking myself that question and I keep getting the same answer"
"And what would that answer be"
"I did it because I like you"
If I didn't feel like I was going to faint i did now, I was in complete shock. Then everything went black.
When I woke up from after fainting the first thing I saw this time was someone I had never met before, later I found out his name was Zac and he was the one that brought me to the clinic. I was greatful to him and in my opinion I owed him my life. Me and Zac were soon friends, we hung out almost every weekend, but most weekends I hung out with my new boyfriend Chris. My friends still could not believe that he asked me out after all this time. I think when I had gone out with this other person he had got jeleous. The thing about me and Zac being friends had never been an issue before untill the day he asked me out, I had to tell him that we needed to just be friends because I already had a boyfriend, Just after this happend I had told Chris and he said that he would understand if I just wanted to be friends with him, because he knew how much I liked being friends with Zac. Then just the day before the End of the Year Dance, Chris had already bought my ticket for me, Zac asked me to the dance, and at that very moment Chris walked up and told me I should go with him. I was about to argue with him because he had been the one that bought my ticket, but then he added:
"As long as you save me at least one dance"
Now after that I had a mission that consernerd Katherine and Connor. I was going to try to get Connor to go with Katherine or at least dance with her for one dance, so that day at lunch I went up to him and said:
"Will you go to the davne with Katherine Mitchell"
He answered, "Sure." But I wasn't paying atention so I kept going and was about to convince him to at least to dance with her once, when I finally heard what he said.
"You would!" I said.
"Yeah, sure"
"Ok then, she'll meet you here on Friday," I informed him.
Then at just that moment Katherine's class walked in, I practally ran up to her but I was stopped mid-way by my ex-boyfriend,Matt. I was so mad he did that, I was trying to tell my freind some great news.
"Will you get out of the way I have to tell Katherine something," I yelled at him.
"Only if you go to the dance with me," He told me.
"I already have a date thank you very much"
Then I got past him and when I told Katherine I thought she was going to pass-out, but for her sake she didn't and that was a good thing, because Connor was still in the lunch room.
"How did you get him to say yes"
"Nothing, when I asked him he just said sure"
"Oh, my gosh"
"Yeah," I agreed.
Just then out of no where Connor appeared, he turned toward me and said:
"I changed my mind, I want to go with you." And for the third time that year, I fainted.
This time when I woke up I first saw Connor. I was so suprised by what he had said back in the lunch room. I knew Katherine was hurt by that, this was about the only thing, besides what he said, that I could think about.
"Hey, how are you feeling, you hit the ground pretty hard back there," Connor interupted, though he didn't know he did.
"Uhhh, I don't know, but tell me one thing why did you change your mind"
"Because you were the one that was able to ask me instede of her," he answered.
I did have more confidence then all my friends, but I never knew that anyone noticed.
"And I have liked you for a long time," he added.
All I could think was "Oh My Gosh, I can't believe that, poor Katherine she had liked him all year"
"Well Connor, I'm sorry to tell you this but I already have a date for the dance, but I'll save you a dance," I told him.
"Ok, I can't wait"
Then just then the nurse walked in and told Connor he needed to go back to class, soon enough I was sent back with a note that said:
"Avoid letting Laura Bumpus to get over excited and do not inform of overpowering news"
I threw it away as soon as I got back to the room, because I love to be excited and great news, like for example when I got back to the room and was sitting in my seat, Sabrina told me that Zach Pardue loved me and broke-up with Jennifer so he could go out with me.
Now I was in way to deep, now at least four guys liked me, and I was going out with one, going to the dance with another, and saving a dance for another one. I was so confused, but what confused me most was that I really wanted to go out with Zach because I had liked him ever since the first of the year.I didn't know what I was going to do now, I was so confused.
By this time on our walk we were just a block from Chris's house. I saw him outside messing around with Katherine's neighbor Shane. Then he saw me, he then started running toward me, when he got to me he grabed me and started to kiss me. I could have sworn I could hear fireworks somewhere in the distance.I was amazed by the way he was acting, I now knew that I did not want to be with anyone eles but him. Standing there as Chris kissed me were Katherine, Alexis, and Shane. When me and Chris stoped kissing we could not believe what we were seeing right in frount of us. There smak-dab right in front of us, us being Chris, Katherine, and me, Alexis and Shane were kissing. Then they stopped and started running away from us. I was just amazed by how Alexis was acting. Then we all agreed to run after them, while we were running we were discussing how that could have happend.
"Why would Alexis do that and not inform us that she liked him?" I asked them.
"I don't know, maybe she knew that you might tell him, Laura," Katherine answered.
"Hey, don't be mean to her like that," Chris told Katherine.
"Hey, Chris can I use your cell phone?" I asked him.
"Sure, what for?" he answered.
"To call Alexis," I told him.
He then said ok and gave me the phone. I dialed the number of her cell phone because I knew she had it on her. The phone rang, then rang again, then she answered.
"Hello'
"Hey, why are you running from us"
"Because we want to be alone"
I stopped right there in my tracks.
"You want to be alone"
"Yes"
"Ok, I'll leave you alone, but I won't be talking to you till you rid your self of that person and all thoughts of him too. Bye"
"But"
I didn't hear what eles she had said because I hung up on her. The three os us then turned around and went to Chris's house. While walking we discussed what all had just went on.
"Why were you so mean to her?" Katherine asked.
"I don't know," I answered.
"Well, let's just go inside and get something to drink, then we can go find them," Chris suggested.
"Sounds good to me," I replied.
"Me too," Katherine added.
