At the brink of eternity

The broken sun rises on the wind swept desert sands

(Those treacherous global sands)

The dead sea laps at the endless beach

And the last tree sways

(The old elm stands alone)

As the final human stands

(At the brink of eternity)

As he cries his name to the sky, his act of final speech

As the final human stumbles, knowing he reaches the end of his days

(He waits for the cruel ending)

The air morphs into poison

(We do not cough our lungs know poison more than air)

The last river flows

And the last tree is watered by a breath of acid rain

(Poor elm, besieged you still stand alone!)

The last river flows, the stream of crimson

(By blood and venom it is dark)

That last wind, the only one that still blows

On this place, known once as god’s domain

(This desert once called Tera)

As our final human goes to find salvation

(He begs for rest, allow him such!)

Somewhere, in the shade of the last elm tree

The lone orchid blooms

(Immortal bloom, the last of it’s kind)

The final human stumbles upon his last temptation

(Fall to your knees before it, behold your destiny!)

On the shore of the cold red sea

As his last position he assumes

(Pray, pray now or take that bloom which calls your name!)

In the shade of the elm, at the foot of the crimson stream

(Old friends, let there be that end we have prayed for)

The lone human raises his face to the sky in what shall be his final motion

The last wind blows in this momentous hour

(Do it now, or live forever alone!)

As the last flower dies

And the last human prays

And the sky falls in

At the brink of eternity
