The Next Night
by MC Bella

Nerves they make us shake

The times we quit when it's too much to take

We can't see as lovers

Afraid of what we feel for each other

Fire sparks won't fade

Photographs at night, graveyards, ghosts we saw

Please fade this feeling

Of impressions of warm hands pressed in mine

It was just one time

Lying in the grass, seeing the stars pass

Overhead in time

To the beating of our hearts, please don't start

This thought again

Of lips gently pressed, it was for the best

The sun rose that night

In of course those warm arms that I lied in

Nobody would know

Because the night was dark around us

And the way we spoke

It would happen all again the next night.

Authouress's Note:

I must say. I've been listening to too much Jack's Mannequin. I must also say that "World War Us" is a much better work. This is basically angst really because I have a date... well technically THIS afternoon (it's 12:09)... so... Sage I guess this is for you.
