World War Us
by MC Bella

In this symphony of light and dark, forever am I caught

Trapped between the lines, shy kids keeping time

Deep inside my mind

Fields silver-red, city lights that shine

Something so sublime

Stranger's faces pass, nothing ever lasts

In this time, I find

The blur of caffeine, car doors, midnight drive

Car crash lullabye

Arrows flashing ambulance passes by

Straightjackets, dead air

This star-bright adrenaline love affair

Overstated hate

Is only love we're scared to try and fake

Authouress's Note:

Yeah. WAY too much Jack's Mannequin. I'm actually very happy with this. It might turn into a song... maybe. The line "This star-bright adrenaline love affair" is actually my personal favorite. I don't know why. I have a thing for.. eh the whole MCR "starless eyes" thing meets William Shakespeare "star-crossed lovers".
