A good friend challenged me to write a poem about MYSELF without using the words I, me, my, or mine. This poem, completely about me, fulfills that challenge. If you read, please review. .

A Young Woman Worth Knowing
29 January 2007
2:27 A.M.

Dyed red hair just past shoulder's length
Soft brown eyes that sometimes shine
Slouched frame belies hidden inner strength
A young woman depressed, at times

Sometimes quiet and introspective
Other times quite outspoken and loud
Open minded with an open perspective
A young woman who longs to stand proud

Tending to be rather pessimistic
Yet always a loyal, trustworthy friend
Obsessed with the intricacies of linguistics
A young woman on whom to depend

Overweight, but still self-assured
Quite friendly and easygoing
Knowledgeable and not easily allured
A young woman definitely worth knowing
