A very long time ago, there were two friends, named Demitri and Ambrose, whose friendship was rivaled by none. Everyone around admired how they never argued with each other.

However, there was a witch, named Shemara, who was jealous of heir friendship. Since she was an evil witch, she had no friends of her own. It angered her to see Demitri and Ambrose so happy, so she decided to tear them apart, and placed a wicked curse upon them.

She turned Ambrose into a creature intolerant of sunlight, which had the power to transform into a hideous winged beast that fed on the blood of humans. Shemara named this creature the Vampire.

She turned Demitri into an abominable mix of man and wolf. He was forced to endure the change into this beast every full moon. She named this creature the Lycan, or the Werewolf.

Shemara then gave Demitri and Ambrose the power to turn humans into the same creature by biting them. Then, as the finishing touch to her curse, Shemara decreed that both breeds would forever be at war with each other.

Demitri and Ambrose decided to use their power of Turning to force others to be as miserable as they were. Soon, there were legions of vampires and werewolves.

And that is how Werewolves and Vampires came to be.
