Melt Away

In the darkness truth hides in fright
Sun sets and the dark side’s light
Time runs down and life’s too short
Its too little too late to stop it now

You can’t even save yourself from this
Poison spreads in death’s cold kiss
The sun denies light to the moon
It doesn’t deserve it, we don’t deserve this

Where can I turn when the stars don’t shine
Never thought this problem was to be mine
Tough boys cry as newborns die
And the cold iron tears through flesh

Life’s fading, not long enough
Knives hidden in lies and bluffs
Sharp pain, lost and vain
And it all melts away
