she wants to be Super Girl
but we don’t get everything we want.
she's perfectly clear that she wants to be
perfect.

and she’s far from it because
she won’t dot her i’s
and she keeps forgetting to cross her t’s.
(can you spell Miss Awkward/
can you misspell awkward?)

besides, she’s pigeon-toed
and we can’t have that, now can we?
she’s got to have a perfect body
and a pretty face-
(is this what America looks like?)

the only language she knows
(besides English)
is gibberish, and boy, if it isn’t
her favorite to speak.

and maybe the world ran out of perfect
just before she came
(the early bird catches the attention.)

so you’ve got a long way to go,
Miss Awkward, but enjoy the ride
because life is a whole lot more
interesting when it’s not perfect.
