There is a river by a tree,
That empties out into the sea.
We all go there when we’re thirsty.
-
But, as I was drinking from the river by the tree,
A stunning realization hit me.
It would not be there for future generations to see!
It would not exist, you see?
We’d drink it all up when we were thirsty,
And the future generations would not see,
The river by the tree,
That empties out into the sea.
-
And so I walked away quite proudly,
Deciding not to drink from the river by the tree,
The one that empties out into the sea,
Knowing that because of my discovery,
It would be there for future generations to see,
That river by the tree,
That empties out into the sea.
-
This all makes perfect sense to me,
You see?
