Don't you ever wish to escape?

Be free from it all?

Maybe that way

I won't fall.

No one can catch me

It's too hard.

I wish I could fly

Over the rainbow

Like Dorothy and Toto.

But... no.

I must stay here

Amidst all the toil.

Near mundane things

That are so tedious

Yet wonderful to others.

I don't see how it can be.

I don't believe we are here

To do routine tasks.

I won't believe it!

I can't believe it!

Escapism is wrong

Or so I'm told.

But the imagination is such

A wonderful place to be

Where your dreams come true

And miracles happen.

Could it be?

That this life is not for me?

Well, then I shall go

To where Alice went

Which is merely a dent

In my head

A/N: This is just amateur poetry so please don't critique it so harshly.
