I am always moving from one place to another. Do you know why? Just because my parents say so! They have to get somewhere, I suppose. I know that my father has business to attend to in California. He wants to make his main operations there, and will probably stay his usual one and a half years before moving again, even if he told me it was going to be until I finish high school this time. It also means we are pretty rich.

Let me introduce myself properly this time. My name is Tina. My new school is called RedFlame High. I’ve heard of it. ‘Rumor High’ is what it’s known as. My cousin is there. Their commodity is gossip. My cousin isn’t rich, my family is paying for her education, but she doesn’t have to be treated like trash.

We’ve arrived, and I quickly walk off. My parents know I’m seething, so they let me go. Yet, after you’ve stayed for a while in a place, feelings develop. So what is they agreed to raise my monthly pocket money by five hundred every month?

I’ve decided: I won’t let anyone know my family status. Tears run down my face, flustering my cheeks. I’m going to school tomorrow. I just don’t... I don’t want to leave behind my friends! I know I’m just going to leave again. Deep in thought, I collided with someone.

“You know, you should note your surroundings” I saw, through my tears, a tall boy, who seemed about my age. His shiny black hair clashed with his white skin.

“The roads are free for all to walk!” I snapped angrily. His mouth turned in a half smile. He watched me throw a fit. Then, keeping up that half smile, he asked me his first question.

“You’re the first one to answer back to me. Are you new here?”

Ignoring him, I walked away, wiping a strand of my fiery red hair out of my Cerulean icy eyes. I just didn’t need pity today of all days, not here, especially not now. I told myself to chill. Tomorrow, I would start at RedFlame. A wave of self-pity swept over me. Alone, I cried, marring my pale cheeks more, letting them rival the color of my hair.

I woke up early; I could not sleep. My dreams were tormenting me; they beheld the memories of my past. Friends, I made everywhere, some tears when I announced I was going to leave: It was like I was abandoning them. I had become very close to some of them. Deep inside, pain still coursed through my veins.

I watched the sun rise, noting how the mighty ball of energy drove away the night with shards of orange and purple, soon sky blue took over. Perhaps it's a promise of new hope? Or it’s the reminder of my past? I didn’t know. Either way, I suppose I really didn’t care.

My chauffeur drove me to the school. At the gate, I saw my cousin, Lily. She smiled at my appearance. She looked pale and tired.

I recognized her shoulder-length raven black hair, now in a playful, yet skilled, ponytail. Her onyx brown eyes were staring at me in amazement, I never got why she looked at me like that. Luckily, this school hasn’t had those awful uniforms like my former school, I liked it, and so I could wear my normal outfit. Lily seemed to enjoy the freedom as well, with her knee-length indigo skirt and her maroon sweater.

“Tina” She said, her voice so soft it may well have been a whisper. She smiled. Beyond, I spotted some well... people looking at the two of us.

The thing was, with all that scrutinizing, I couldn’t tell if they were, indeed, human. They looked alien, foreign, and although I was no longer looking at them, their image filled my head in its entirety. For the second time that week, I collided with someone... the very same person. He looked amused.

“Kismet, wouldn’t you say?” he asked. I took a mental note of his features. What I didn’t notice yesterday was surprising; intense blue eyes and lips that were practically begging me to kiss them. His sharp, chiseled features didn’t hurt. He was handsome, very handsome. Still, I managed to ignore him yet again, not before seeing that puzzled look upon his face. To be honest, he looked like a snob.

Black with dark red sleeveless shirt with a matching black leather vest, tightly against his chest, certainly to make a couple of girls drool. He also wore some expensive worn out jeans, the kind of pair that you can buy for 500 US dollars but also the kind of pair you receive after wearing them for ten years. He also wore black Converse sneakers with the brand smeared all over them.

“What’s up?” I asked Lily, who was looking at the guy with a strange look on her face.

“Oh my God! That was him! I heard he had dropped out of school, but there he was! Oh my God, that guy is so hot!” Well, colour me puzzled. I said as much to her. She took a deep breath. SAfter a while with out a reply, I asked her again.

“That was Nicholas. He belongs to the school group of it-kids, SilverRivers. I can’t believe he spoke to YOU!” she squealed. I frowned.

“No offence, Tina.” she continued, a guilty look on her face. I sighed and threw my palms up into the air, gesturing that it was all too predictable that she was doing that. It was. She was always gushing over some guy or other, it was in her character.

I mean, he was hot, all right. Though he wasn’t my type. No one that hot could be, simply because I wouldn’t trust them if my life depended on it. I saw him frown at some girls who were throwing themselves at him, but that was all. I suppose he was one of those who were way too nice to tell girls to back off.

I choked back a laugh. Who was I kidding? Lily had said, after all, that he dropped out before, and she never tells lies. Yet, who was I to judge a person based on rumors? No, I wouldn’t do that. That wouldn’t be me, it would be like Clarinda, that girl who was such a snob I can’t believe she was ever my friend.

Yet now... I don’t know. Lily has just told me about this ...club called SilverRivers. Apparently they are the best of the best. Not to me. To me, the person who’s the best for me will always be the person who told me he loved me as long as the moon shines. The person who told me he would be my moon, to watch over me in dark times. My boyfriend, Matthew.

She’s going to find it hard to keep herself loyal... can true love REALLY conquer all? Count on a visit from Clarinda sometime in the story... Oh and Onion Rings, if you do see this again, thanks for your comments, it did help me!
