I promised myself that one day
I would write the words that every one could understand
So small
So beautiful
That even the hardest skin
Or the weakest soul
Could love what I write
So I sat with my pen in hand
And wrote
The ink sprayed vicious words of hate
Shameless words of love
And thick words of sadness
Yet the paper was blank
Just words on a page
I promised myself that one day
I would speak the words that everyone could understand
So soft
So thunderous
That even the most innocent ear
Or the hardest heart
Could understand what I say
So I stood with a microphone in hand
And spoke
The words vibrated of aching loneliness
Tearing jealously
And of everlasting grudges
Yet the sounds were deaf
Just voices in the air
I promised myself that one day
I would show the words that everyone could understand
So graceful
So silent
That even the most closed mind
Or the faintest eye
Could see what I do
So I traveled with nothing in hand
And showed the world who I was
With actions of the deepest devotion
Everlasting forgiveness
And the most purest love of all
And it meant everything
Because even the most heartfelt words
And the most amazing speeches
Mean nothing
For it is never what you write or say
That matter
It’s your actions
That change the world
