Only two months after
the man with the plastic cord disappeared,
a quivering form of flesh
huddles on the hardwood floor.
Fists, water, eggs and fingers
fed upon the unstable being.

She held up a knife,
hysterical through tears and pain.
Threats of retaliation are screamed
and she’s fearful,
uncertain of her conviction.

He sits in a chair,
watching the torture,
amused as if it was just a game.

She is found by the woman
with the warm hands.
The woman picks her up
and changes her into dry clean clothes,
certain that the warm bed,
will be the solution to the problem.
