Keep the lights off,

my love.

My flesh begs not to be seen.

Let the covers act as a barrier,

my darling.

The curves and bumps

Want to remain hidden

Under this cotton shirt.

Please keep your eyes closed,

sweetheart.

I can’t bear to gaze in the mirror,

I can’t let you see anything more

than these shadows and silhouettes.

Careful where your fingers roam,

I fear that my body will be like Braille to you,

telling you all of my imperfections.

Just don’t touch me,

I’m undeserving of such caresses.
