Waiting for “I do”

I’m waiting here for you
In that corner of my room
Where the bed lies
I sit here and sigh

I’m here until that day
When you come to me and say
“we must flee now my love”
I love you

I’m up against your chest
Your heart beating against my breast
I’ve always dreamt of this
But I still have to wait

I have a ring on my finger
That’s say I must linger
In the form of a single
Until you arrive

I don’t mind it at all
I can wait for your call
I swear I’ll trust God
I just need to hold on

My love story is written
And soon I’ll be smitten
Without the distractions
Of my past actions

So ha! to all of you
Who said I’d never make it to “I do”
This life long dream of mine
will not be tainted by your lies

Come to me my prince
I’ve never cuddled or kissed
I have been praying for you
And waited for “I do”
