To see a wave crash

To feel it’s rise and pull

Is to know your heartbeat

-

For your feet to crush the pebbles below

And your arms to float with the foam

Is to know you’re alive

-

With each cresting wave

The white water crush

And purpose draws you in

-

The ocean owns you now

You can never totally escape it

It is a part of your life

-

So you breathe with the tide

And fall with the moon

In an everlasting rhythm.

-

This came from a summer spent in Nantucket. Where, after swimming in the ocean, I could still feel the pull of the tide in my bones. Hmmm... should I post the monologue I wrote on the subject? If I can find it that is...

What do you think?
