Aliens 2007
Apparently life was different back in 2007, they actually went out during the day and slept at night; weird, huh?
“Oh my god! I’m never going to challenge those historians any longer! I mean, look! There’s the sun..” Anna yelled out excitedly.
“And people are awake. Aren’t you just a little too enthusiastic? We’re here for our report, not a holiday.” I grumbled as I crossed my arms and stared grumpily at Anna, only my best friend ever.
We were both standing in front of one of those buildings that were called ‘skyscrapers’. I was grudgingly impressed. Who knew mere humans had the ability to build such tall buildings?
The sun very nearly blinded us had not Anna suddenly had the insight to whip out some equipments of the past – meaning this time – with us. Wearing those thick black glasses held together by some thin metal which had the label ‘sunglasses’ was a new experience that I wish not to have ever again. I pulled at the frames looped around my pointy ears.
“Look! Look! Paul! That’s so cool! Cars!” Anna pulled me closer to where I could see some big square blocks with round wheels attached to the bottom moving about with some really noisy sounds. In the future, we had no such things, and to see one moving and not displayed in a room was interesting. I quickly jot down some facts in my analytical brain.
“Anna, do we stick out or something? These humans are whispering and pointing at us.” I said irritated, I pulled at the tight silver top and luminous oink shorts that were apparently the fashion of this time. I have to say, their taste is horrible. I’d take my usual white cloak, white long loose pants anytime.
Though Anna doesn’t look half bad in this ‘dress’ that revealed her long legs.
“Come on Anna, let’s go inside, if I stand any longer under the sun, I’m afraid my system might just fail.”
“Oh, alright. Doesn’t it seem weird that the sky is blue? And we’re actually on the surface of Earth!”
To those wondering, my name’s Paul, Penosafien number 10923, and I am not crazy. Anna, Penosofien number 11255, is not crazy either.
The only reason we seem to be different from these dark creatures called Homosapiens, regardless of type is staring at us with huge big eyes I feel like gorging out is because we’re way taller than these puny humans. Even with these’ sunglasses on, they must be able to feel our penetrating gaze. I look at their short stubby fingers with a scientific interest.
Unlike them, Anna and I have three joints in our long fingers and two in our toes. Our legs are also longer. Our muscles are more elastic and I am able to jump from one of these skyscrapers to another, if I wish too of course, but I won’t do such an insipid exploit.
If you really want to know, Anna and I are the products of our forefathers, aliens from outer space deciding to settle down in peaceful Earth where humans dwell and breed there. We come from planet Exavier.
And yeah, in the future, everyone sleeps in the daytime when the sun glares down at everything. Even then, there’s a possibility that we do not even bother to come up to the ground.
Oh you see, we, the aliens and a minority of humans, prefer to live deep down in the sea, where we live in domes connected to the underground where humans also dwell and a minority of different species of aliens. It’s the reason why Anna is so delighted with all the different colours as our species prefer to live in darkness. Could be the reason why we’re so pale till we seem translucent.
Some humans even prefer to live on the moon. The ground above us are untouched as is the rule imposed by the Government.
We have to give time to let Mother Earth heal after all. I glare distastefully at a puny human who scampers off. Is that what they call a ‘boy?’. You have to forgive me, but in the future, we do not care for such titles. Each of us have a common name, species and a number.
A human in the future such as yourself might have the name, Homosapien Yvonne number 14556.
“Hey mister. Why are you so tall? And your fingers are all weird!” A young child, a girl presumably, she has scruffy short hair and big brown eyes. A typical human facial feature. I glare at her. You are weird human, let go of this ‘short’ that I am wearing. I attempt to communicate with her telepathically before realizing that humans do not have this ability just as yet in this time.
How troublesome. I open my mouth to speak. “Let go.” My brain had already processed the language I have to speak to allow this young one to understand me and what I speak has been transmitted to her mind as English.
“Missus! You are very pretty! But you look like a ghost!” The girl shouts and I am reminded of a younger, paler, prettier Anna, with long white hair not this brown matt of hair.
“Ooh! How adorable! A human child! Shall you help us? We are doing an assignment on the characteristics of Homosapiens of this time.” The young child does not comprehend us.
Suddenly the child nods. Anna squeals in delight. “You sound like a fish underwater.” The girl says. “My name is Lis Meyer, let’s go for an ice cream!”
‘Ice cream’, is it some sort of weapon humans in this time use? Or some sort of book? Ah, I am intrigued. I push the sunglasses that are tilting on my flat nose. Does it not stay put? Argh, I pull it off and my golden eyes narrow.
Lis, a homosapien, leads us around more humans. I do not detect even one alien. It is quite unusual.
“What is this ice cream that you speak off?” I ask the girl as she skips in front of the two of us. If anyone noticed, they would detect that our feet are floating a few millimeters above the ground. Gravity has a slight effect on us.
The child giggled. “You’re funny. Let’s go for Baskin Robins. They’re my favourite!”
We arrived finally, at a building with striking pink and blue colours. I shielded my eyes from such a horrifying scene. Anna ‘oohed’ and ‘aahed’ much to my annoyance.
“Come on then! I’ll pay! Mama said that woman should be independent and not rely on others! I’m independent today! Yeah!” Lis said excitedly as she went in and I was blinded with even more colours. I wish my eyes weren’t so sensitive to pigments of light. Or humans could be colour blind.
“What do you like missy?” Anna leaned in close to me, and I assumed that her given name was Lis Meyer, why is that other human calling her Missy? Is that another of her names?
I turned and scrutinized the man. He was a man with graying hair, nothing much in the category of looks, and as how the humans of this time would say, ‘an ugly balding old man.’
It could be that humans like to impose on others names that they would prefer. I concluded quite brilliantly in fact.
“Aah,” Anna said admiringly and we both noted this down in our brains.
“So, what would this handsome mister and missus like?” That is the second time another has called me ‘missus’, is that the name they would have for me?
I do not know, but am I to be known as mister?
“Yes, yes, I am ‘missus.’” Anna said as she wiggled her thin sliver eyebrows. It is a form of greeting for us.
The man seemed taken aback. “Er, yes.. Er, what would you like?”
Lis smiled and gestured. “All three of us would like Triple Chocolate Fudge!”
“Excellent choice!”
I held a small cylindrical box containing what could only be assumed as wet earth. Or more specifically, mud.
“What do we do with this?” I asked Lis quizzically. We were sitted outside on a bench, in a park, much to my displeasure. The trees around us were orange in colour. A very unique colour. My eyes hurt.
She looked at me funny. “Why, you eat it of course! I knew you two looked funny, but you even speak funny!”
I made another conclusion, Homosapiens are very perplexing creatures.
I dipped a pink stick with a hollowed and rounded end into the sticky mud. Anna did the same. We both placed the small amount of mud in our mouths as Lis looked on expectedly.
My eyes widened, and Anna gasped. Mud from the past was delectable and could be said as delicious! I scooped another spoonful and the both of us had finished the mud in a matter of seconds. Lis laughed as she watched us stuffed the mud in our mouths.
“This is called ice cream? It is good. From which corners of Earth have you dug it from?” I asked excitedly.
“You don’t dg it up silly!” Lis giggled yet again and I eyed her container. “You have to make it, from milk and sugar and chocolate!”
“Interesting.” Anna nod.
“Here you can have mine.” Lis held her container out and I hurriedly finished it while Anna smiled and asked Lis. “What is the nature of humans of this time?”
Lis cocked her head to one side and was thoughtful for a moment. “I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
“Hey Lis! Who are the weirdos with you?” Another name imposed on us! Anna said to me and gazed at the four other young humans with bright eyes. She had abandoned her sunglasses a moment ago.
Four ‘boys’ – one with black hair, ah, normalcy, another with brown and two with yellow hair and such similar looks that I could not tell them apart – approached us.
“What are you doing here?” the child that had seemed so delicate flared up suddenly. “I told you four not to disturb me! If it weren’t for you to put gum on my hair, I wouldn’t have to cut it!” Her voice had rose steadily to a scream.
Anna and I covered our eyes. Homosapiens have varied alters. Some are mirrors of their true self.
She had seem so quiet and soft spoken a while ago, who knew that she could suddenly be another person? Humans were curious species indeed.
The two clones looked at us and two pink objects were shoved out from their mouths. I tugged on one.
“Hey! Why are you pulling Tim’s tongue! Let go!” The other yellow haired boy yelled at me.
Tongue? What contraption is that?
“Where were you manufactured? I do not know that clones were allowed at this time.” Anna asked the two clones.
“Clones? We’re twins! What the hell are clones? Are you two nuts or what?” Tim spluttered out and all four boys scampered away.
“Ooh! Thank you for scaring those bullies away!” The young girl had her arms around the two of us. She had reverted to her softer alter ego.
Humans were puzzling. They could change and shift emotions in a matter of seconds. Their brains must work even faster than humans of out time.
This fact could gain Anna and I extra points.
“I believe we have sufficient notes of humans in this time?” I asked Anna, and she smiled.
“Yes, it is soon to be night. And interestingly, humans rest their body systems during that twelve hour period. I do wish we could stay Lis Meyer, to eat more mud and to see more tongue, but we do have to leave.”
With that, Anna and I both wiggled our eyebrows, our formal greeting and twitched our nose. Lis gaped at us and we spotted the tongue contraption in her mouth too.
We fleetingly heard her say, “Mud? When have they ever eaten mud? Is mud even edible?”
Paul, Penosafien number 10923, and Anna, Penosofien number 11255, was the time travel successful? Was the encounter with homosapiens of time 2007 meaningful? Our teacher, Hungary, Penosafien number 7865 approached us, smiling and wiggled his green eyebrows.
Yes, our conclusion is that humans of that time are able to consume wet earth and cloning is done even at that time. They have alter egos and are to be approached with caution. I said as I too wiggled my eyebrows.
The sky is blue! Anna said excitedly as she glanced around the black and white surrounding us meaningfully.
How remarkable. We do have to research more. I did not know that my forefathers are able to consume wet earth! And tongue.. What is that? A weapon more powerful than nuclear bombs? Tell me more..
Humans are fascinating creatures don’t you think?
- Wei Wern A very stupid and out of nowhere story. Take no notice of the randomness about.
