Personally one of my favorites, this is called Ocean's Song. I wrote it in my Creative Writing Class. Got a 94 on it. It's a Rimbaud poem spin off. So, I hope you enjoy, and I am sorry that I cannot make spacing or all that fancy stuff, I just don't know how! If someone wants to help me, I'd love you forever!!!! 333 Please Enjoy and leave me comments!!! and... how bout even SUGGESTIONS?!!! Like...gimme something to write. Writer's block is horrid. If you have a story I could try to write, or a poem you want to see me try out... please lemme know!! Drop me a message!! Oh... and P.s the opening line my teacher didn't like, but I do, so lay off. LOL.

Ocean's Song

And Never before did I not look

and salty air tasted so sweet

the warmth of the sun

burning and flaking the flesh

of my shoulders and nose.

Freckles poked out on my bared arm

and my sandy toes tingled as it dried

the air was suffocating,

and it was a long walk.

The water, a wet sky

with crashing clouds

and birds that drown, but remain alive.

Alive, like the wild roses,

on the sides of the cliffs nearby,

alive in this seaweed-infested seagull dung.

Parent called me back, I kept on walking

and I felt the burden leave my breaking back

felt it straighten as if I had been carrying 100 pounds of sand.

I closed my eyes, picturing a small boat

with navy sails,

and a shine on the rail,

two orange life jackets

seen from the shore,

while the people acompanying them

Hold hands.

The ocean singing sweet melodies

that reach their ears,

it must reach mine as well,

since I felt the pull

to lash into the waves,

to sing along to the music,

to hold my breath, and swim away from the shore,

away from the parent calling for her child,

which I am no longer...

The wind has caught the tune

which surprised me,

for all know the wind is tone deaf,

but he sang along,

adding his baritone voice in my ear,

as the sea sang high and low.

And the Buoy always seemed so far.
