Down and then up

A 2-ply ride

A rickety structure, sure to break

But do you fear the splinters?

(No, what could they do?)

Stand up from the line

Wait, steady yourself; (too soon)

Walk straight around the spinning room

And feel these new sensations.

(so how could this be bad?)

try to talk; the tongue’s not there

and reading takes so long.

Third time on that sentence,

(now what did that say?)

while you’re asleep but awake,

a synthesized vampire (monster is right)

unable to wake but too tweaked to sleep

lay down now, be quiet and safe

pull the covers over your head

(please don’t let them get me)

Wake up, bleary-eyed, disoriented

Stumble about before realizing why

Shake it off, shower, get on to school

(why won’t my hands stop shaking?)

put on that face, that laugh; the grin is real though.

While waiting to crash on this 2-ply ride
