Chapter 7; Waking Up
I woke up in Lucy’s bed with Todd right beside me. He was still out of it. Both of our skins were paler then ever, and I was thirsty. What happened? Are we vampires now? I guess so because I no longer desired cereal, eggs, or bacon in the morning. “Hmmm…. What? Chloe where are you?” Todd asked waking up and looking at me. He sat up right beside me looking at his pale skin. “Let me guess, we are vampires now?” he said annoyed. I nodded. “Great, this is great. I hate this, Chloe. How are we supposed to get used to this?” I shrugged.
We walked to the door in the floor and went down. On the couches sat the six vampires. “Welcome to your knew life,” said one of them. I rolled my eyes not being
able to think straight. Our whole lives changed in a matter of two to three days. I want to be human again, I can’t stand it. “Sit down,” he said again.
“What is this? A stupid orientation on ‘How to be a Vampire?’” Todd asked sarcastically never letting go of my hand. “I just want to live like a human, and now I’m never going to grow older.”
“Todd… Chloe… You can still live your life doing things like humans do. Just you’re eating habits change and so is the way you die,” the female spoke. I thought about just killing myself with a stake now. “Since you’ve killed the owners of this house, who were also our dearest friends we took revenge on you by turning yourselves into vampires and have eternal damnation. All we ask of you is to leave at once and never come back here. We wish to never see you again. Just remember one thing, animals taste just as good as humans if you don’t wish to get caught for murder, or turning someone else into a vampire.”
I glared at her and tugged on Todd’s arm. “Let’s get out of here.” He nodded. “Where is the exit?”
She looked at me again and spoke, “You can fly out this window that Troy came flying through yesterday. Have a good life.”
“Let’s go,” Todd whispered. We looked out the window, and it appeared to be as we were underground this whole time. We rose up and landed on the ground. We were right across the street from The Black Diamond. How ironic. I looked at Todd, and he looked back at me. He leaned over to kiss me. After doing so he pulled back and said, “Well I got somewhat of a fairytale ending that I wanted.”
