“Argh, for the avenues’ lists of conditions of entry”

Argh, for the blockades that prevent your moving past a certain point,

And, argh, for the gauze that distorts the images of that path ahead,

Argh, for the eyes that have been taken from ‘neath your forehead

To the argh-worthy vantage of way out and high above the rest of your self.

Damn that skateboarder who hasn’t a care for you, trying to pass through,

And…damn that other one who does. Oh, look. Well. Thank you.

Damn, for the chances like these and damn if they ever arise again

Because I’ll be damned to find out about--- sorry. Thanks again.

Flip, for the very number of avenues some concealed, some appealing

And, flip, for the brushes that hide such mysterious roads from your

Way out and high a-flipping-bove eyes, looking ever downwards on the rest

Of yourself. Flip. Flip. The light switch. It’s getting dark.
