One year has past,
I swear it hasn’t been that long.
No one thought we would last,
Yet here we are, still going strong.
The blurred details of our beginning are starting to fade,
Now what’s left is a million memories of why I love you.
And though I wish the memories could have stayed,
I’d choose these million, and many more that will ensue.
What I remember is this:
I remember calling you in tears, and you listening to every word.
I remember dreaming of your kiss,
And seeing a face whose voice I’ve only heard.
I look forward to our life together,
And a time when this longing will end.
When we take our vows to be with each other forever,
And I can spend my life with my best friend.
You’re my baby, my angel, and my life.
And while we still are so far away,
Soon enough, I will be your wife.
And no one will take that away.
