The Storm

The dark clouds come hither,
the air trembles and shivers;
Lightning strikes, thunder booms,
hearts thump, it will arrive soon.
Torrents of rain, beating on the pane,
it continues to gain, shaking its mighty mane.
The storm comes, nothing can stop it;
a whirlwind of water, the sky becomes lit
with bolts of light, split second dancers,
they make only one sound, the thunder comes after.
The beauty, the excitement!
Nature's pure power
cannot be matched, men may just cower.
The forces at work are wonders unfolded,
freedom, liveliness, power unmolded.
