Even Though You’re Gone

The loss of someone we loved,

Brings us here today,

And we’re all expressing our grief,

In ways we cannot say

-----

He gave us so many memories,

Throughout those many years,

And every time we think of them,

It brings us to tears

-----

His face we can still see,

His laugh we can still hear,

But the thought of losing those things,

Turns our sadness into fear

-----

He was there when we laughed,

He was there when we cried,

And I know that he loved us,

Up until the day that he died

-----

He was a very special man,

That we all know,

He never missed a beat,

And that always used to show

-----

Although he is gone now,

We’ll never forget his love,

It lives on in each of us,

Like the clouds in the sky above

This poem is dedicated to my Uncle Rick who died last year at the age of 45. Though we'll never see him again, he'll always be in our hearts.
