Our world was wrought in fire

Where the screams of the dying dead

Echoed in the mists of despair

We needed a hero to guide us beyond

But when he came along, he didn’t

Want to be the one who sacrificed all

For people he had never met

And from there we fell into darkness

Have you seen their haunted eyes?

These hollow shells of an ancient race

Our nightmares, how they shriek in triumph

Where was our savior when we needed him most?

He was losing what he loved most

To a monster from the depths of hell

Our once beautiful lands were gone

Shredded into strips of a barren wasteland

The air we breathed was such poison

And as we lost our final hope he emerged

Bloodied, lost, and with ice in his veins

I can still hear his cry of rage in the sky

It shattered the very fabric of our souls

And when he stepped from the shadows victorious

We wept at the loss we saw there

In the end it was so different from the beginning

Gone was our innocence we had clung to

We were free but bound by our grief

Our world had been wrought in fire

But it had been won by the destruction of ice
