We have just arrived here yesterday, but I miss you already. I've met a really cool guy named Matt Foster, He's from a small town called Lakefield in Tennesee. How're everyone back home? But, most importantly how are you? Is Mandy still dating Kevin? Has Molly had her pups yet? I probably won't get to write for awhile, so please try not to worry too much. Tell Mandy and everyone I send my love. And wish Lexi a Happy Birthday from me. I hope to be home for Christmas, but all we can do is hope. I can't wait to see you again. It's been almost four months. I miss all of you guys so much. I'm going to try and get some sleep now, so I'll talk to ya later.

My hands tremble as I read the letter. Four months. I hadn't seen Alex for four months. It's seems like just yesterday he was holding me in his arms. How I wish for his strong arms to embrace me again and to hear his laughter. I still remember the night he told me he was leaving. It was a regular Saturday night in our small town of West Oak, Virginia. We were sitting on my front porch where we could usually be found on a Saturday night. I can still remember the silence that had engulfed both of us that night, the way I had cried into his chest, the way I had pleaded with him to stay. But the part of the night that really sticks out in my mind is the last few words he had spoken. "Wait for me, Kara." He had whispered softly in the silent night. Then he had kissed me softly and carried me up to my bedroom. The rest of the night was nothing but a blur. I had woken up in his arms the next morning. That was the last night I had spent with him. Now I was going to see him in a little over a month, and I was dreading it. I have a secret that I have been keeping from him the past two months. That last night, we had conceived a child.
