a.n. i feel so small without Him. inspired by chris tomlin's indescribable, louie giglio's video by the same name, switchfoot's gone, the hymn come thou fount of every blessing, and the beautiful love of God that i don't think i'll ever understand. i praise Him anyway with the few clumsy words i have. i'm giving Him my two fish, and He'll feed the five thousand.

(God's) time. too lovely

sometimes his shoulder is

too stiff to cry on,

and his mouth is too weary

to hum a hymn of sympathy,

or to utter just a single

word of solace.

these times, i look to

the Upholder of my life,

and say, “Comfort me,”

and He does,

or “Love me,” and He reminds

me lightly that He never

ceased to do so.

in those times i wonder

why i ever sought

to free myself from

the sweetness of His hold;

In time, He told me,

i’d have faith.

'Til then, He said,

It’s okay—

because He’d never

think to let me go

“For a second,” He beamed,

“in all My world’s time.”

that time,

I smiled in the

warmth of His Love,

in the sanctuary of His arms

that would never be

too full for me

because His clock was

patient and His promises

held my ever-straying heart

in those bruised and

gentle hands.
