“Promises are made to be broken,”

You mutter carelessly.

“No they aren’t,”

I whisper.

But you don’t hear me.

You never hear me.

You broke your promise to me

And you broke my heart too.

But you don’t care.

No, not you.

The point of a promise,

Not to be broken,

But to be kept,

Because you mean it.

A promise is not just some words,

Something you say without thinking.

You never think.

Don’t you know I love you?

Perhaps you don’t care.

You are pretty heartless.

You promised me you loved me.

Then I found out the truth.

You never loved me.

You loved someone else the whole time.

I was just a fool,

Part of some sick game of yours.

How could you break your promise?

Didn’t you think about anyone else?

You had to know I’d be hurt.

But still you played your stupid game,

And I hate you now.
