Only morons and losers yearn to conform
To these petty stereotypes, and preset social norms...
But true trendsetters manage to get past the road blocks
And find a way to blaze their own trail, even when all hope is gone...

For so long I was convinced these moments of concern were rare
But as I swing my balled up fists, as I'm punching empty air...
The stress that's slowly been swelling, deep inside of me,
With each passing second becomes so much easier to see...

But this is the deal we took from God so long ago,
In exchange for birth we submit to a lifetime of labor...

And although we complain as if we were slighted
We knew from the beginning this wouldn't be easy,
But I don't quite think all hope is lost just yet...
Perhaps some good will come from this after all...

(2x)
No, I don't think all hope is lost just yet...
Some good will come from this in the end...

Even if our path isn't quite conventional...
Some good will come from this in the end...
Something significant will develop in our shadow,
And our generation will be better off I'm sure...

(4x)
Yeah, something good will come from this,
Yes, yes, I'm absolutely certain...

So welcome one and all,
To an improved new century...
We paved a way through the dark times
So that you wouldn't have to do it all alone...

(4x)
You'll look back on this and thank us,
And of that much I am sure...
