You listen but you do not judge
From what I've seen you don't bear a grudge;
You take the time to listen, to hear
The look in your eyes tells me, "I'm here."

You can make me laugh and make me smile;
Such happy expressions have not been mine for a while.

You know some of what angers me, and what pleases me;
When I am angered you are quick to see,
Yet somehow you just know what to say
To bring some joy back into my day.

You laugh with me, laugh and tease
Make me feel I could do as I please...

So now in my way I want to thank you
For making me feel the way you do
When I'm with you, the way I feel
Somehow feels right; I guess it feels real.
