I'm

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

Laying here in my bed,

next to the one I love.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

I am who I am,

not caring what the world thinks.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

Knowing sticks and stones will break my bones,

and words will always hurt me.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

For I know how to build walls,

with your sticks and your stones.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

I no longer feel the punches,

I no longer hear the words.

But,

one phrase.

Just one gets through.

That's Gay.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I guess.

Can you call it lucky?

Facing the hatred and prejudices everyday.

I'm lucky...

because I am still here fighting.
