Chapter 1

She typed on the computer when a chat screen popped up.

everythingstaken: hey, whatcha doin madi?

She smiled. 'So Chase finally logged on.'

dreamsarefordreamers: not much until you logged on

everythingstaken: am i your savior from boredness?

dreamsarefordreamers: i ain't callin' you my lord

He loved talking to her over AIM, although that was the only way so far.

everythingstaken: well i'm hurt

dreamsarefordreamers: don't worry, you'll get over it.

A while passed before either of them typed anything.

dreamsarefordreamers: do i ever get to see you?

everythingstaken: idk. no. you know what i look like.

dreamsarefordreamers: y not?

everythingstaken: because

dreamsarefordreamers: why?

everythingstaken: just because. anyway, why do you wanna meet me so badly?

She looked at her laptop screen. 'Because I wanna see you idiot, what else do you think?'

dreamsarefordreamers: we've been talking to each other like this everyday 4 the past month.

everythingstaken: so, what's ur point?

dreamsarefordreamers: my point is, we've been friends for a month, yet we have never met in person. wtf?

everythingstaken: i got reasons. u really don't need to know.

dreamsarefordreamers: explain.

everythingstaken has logged off at 10:34:04 P.M.

She slammed her hands down on her desk in frustration. Every time she asked that, he would answer with the same thing. Sure she knew he was a dark Asian, deep blue eyes, 5' 10", wore contacts; but she wanted to know exactly what he looked like, how he sounded, if he really was as bad as he said he was in social terms. She put her face in her hands. Without realizing it, in the past month, she had fallen deeply in love with her internet buddy, and she wasn't even sure that he loved her back.

He hated to lie to her, he just couldn't bear to explain everything to her, especially while he had just gained her trust.

"He still doesn't wanna meet in person. Heck, he won't even let me hear him over the phone," Madison said to her friends the next day at school.

"Maybe he's ugly and he doesn't want you to see," her best friend Audrey said, laughingly.

"Either that he thinks you're ugly and doesn't want to see you," her other best friend, Sydney, said in a playful voice.

"Whatever the reason, I'm pretty much pissed off again."

"And it'll wear off by the end of today. Anyway, why don't you just look for a guy that fits his description? He lives in this town anyway," Sydney suggested.

"Not that easy, he said he goes to an all-boys school. And he rarely spends time outside of his home, unless he absolutely has to go somewhere." The bell rang before any of them could say anything.

"Chemistry. My lab partner is such a pain in the ass. I can't believe the teacher paired us up," Madison grumbled, picking her things up from the bench.

"Isn't your partner Aiden Myers?" Audrey asked, using the "isn't that a good thing?" tone.

"Yeah, but he's a real bitch. I gotta go." The three girls parted ways.

Aiden stood in the doorway, the entering students walking around him, not bothered by his presence. He put his hand on the other side of the door frame, blocking whoever it was trying to pass.

"Move Myers," Madison commanded the gray-eyed boy.

"Ooh, last name basis." She narrowed her eyes. "Just walk under," he suggested simply. She ducked to walk under his arm but was stopped again when Aiden merely lowered his arm. She gave him a "get serious" look. He just shrugged.

"Move," she commanded again.

"Say please," he teased, making her roll her eyes. "Careful, your eyes might get stuck like that."

"Please move." He looked like he was thinking about it then:

"No."

"What?! Get outta my way Myers or I swear..." Her threat was left unfinished when the chemistry teacher walked in.

"Aiden, get to your seat and stop harassing people," the old lady snapped.

"Yes Mrs. Morgan." He got out of the way and sat in his seat, Madison sitting in hers.

"Alright class, today's lesson..." the teacher drowned on, Madison in her own thoughts, absentmindedly taking notes, until the bell rang.
