1The morning comes in whispers

and the sunset in sighs

and our love came like warm rain -

washing away everything

overwhelming

drenching us in this new feeling

and when the storm clouds cleared we were left

together

and we entered the world new, and we

picked the flowers that grew and we

held the hands that sheltered blows and we

kissed with those soft sunset sighs

we spoke with soft words and smiled with

eager grins

life couldn’t be better because the

world had a new light

and then the winter came like a

heavy blow

but we stayed; we warmed each other in the cold

we hid from the ice and the bareness and the dark

and we created something more

and then something was approaching -

the seasons would repeat and the flowers could grow

and we could whisper, we could sigh

we could celebrate

until the wind blew you away

heartache came like a silver blade

cutting a hole in to what was there

welling tears in my eyes and fears in my heart

and you left me, bare.

love lays bleeding
