The Color Rainbow
So the world is full of colors. Bright, bold ones and gross, bland ones. Peridot is my birthstone. It’s pretty gross. I’ve always hated it; it’s a nasty pee green that makes me want to vomit every time I have to look at it. Everyone told me to get my birthstone as my class ring but I absolutely refused. Why would I want something that would make me want to run to the bathroom every 10 seconds? Anyway…have you ever really thought about color? I have a friend who’s color blind; not like she only sees black and white or anything like that. She can’t tell blues from purple or red from orange and yellows and greens all look the same. She showed me a picture of what the rainbow looked like to her…and I couldn’t imagine having to see that when I looked into the sky after a bad storm. It was all bland yellows and browns; really boring, gross colors. And I said to her, “Haley, it’s a sad, sad world you live in.” But she just laughed. I didn’t get why she didn’t care about seeing all these beautiful colors; all these things she’s missing out on for a while. But I guess, if you’ve never experienced it, never saw all the shades of blue in a person’s eyes or the nasty pee color of my birthstone, you really aren’t missing anything. Maybe to her, peridot is beautiful.
