Empty Victories
…
…
…
She looked at the sight around her:
The barren, icy wasteland
Full of crumbled lives that
Disaster had left in its wake.
Touching the scars on her body
She sank to the ground in dismay.
She really had tried her best.
She'd done everything right.
And yet still nothing…
Only now did she realize the truth:
That they were all
Nothing but
Empty victories;
A battle won,
A war lost.
