Narration:
“Hey Guys!
It’s Kit. Things are pretty normal in Boston. I go to school, hang out with my family, and spend lots of time with my best friend Zoey. Just yesterday she asked me to go to an environmental exhibit at the Convention Center where we met up with the new guy in school named Adam Moon. I don’t know why I am so nervous around him. Perhaps things will become more interesting in this small city that I live in.
Episode Two: Birth of a Hero“Step right up!” the red head called to the group of people that had gathered around her including Zoey, Kit, and Adam who had wandered over sometime later, “Are you compatible?” she asked with eagerness in her eyes as the three of them stood in front of the machine with wonder in their eyes, “All you have to do is step under this spot here” she pointed to a low hanging mechanism, “And then enter the large tube in the center. Come on” she replied with a smile, “Who’s brave enough to try it? You there, young lady!” she called.
“Me?” Zoey pointed astonished.
“Yes you. You pretty little thing” she smiled even more as she shook the girl’s hand, “How would you like to try it?”
“Well I don’t know” Zoey shook her head, “What exactly does it do?”
“Oh, I am so glad that you asked me that. This machine right here, the I.D. identifies if your personality is compatible with the environment. It is also a good test to see if you might have a future involved with the environment as well.”
“How is that possible?” Adam asked as some people rolled their eyes at the idea.
“It’s a very special machine” she replied, "So would you like to be the first to test it?” she turned to Zoey.
“Well” Zoey said with a smile, “Okay. I will if you guys will,” she added turning to Kit and Adam who nodded in agreement, “What do I do exactly?”
“Just stand under that beam first” the woman replied, “And then enter that plastic tube to see if you are compatible.”
“All right” Zoey nodded as she walked under the beam and then into the plastic tube.
“This sort of reminds me of a carnival event,” Adam said turning to Kit who blushed.
“Uh yea” she nodded lowering her head a little, “But it is interesting.”
“Oh yea definitely. What did you say your name was again?” he asked with a handsome smile.
“It’s Kit. Well actually it’s Katherine. Katherine Ann Morgan but everyone calls me Kit.”
“I like it. You don’t mind if I call you that do you?”
“No not at all. By the way, where did you live before this?”
“Chicago. It’s more of a larger city then Boston is. It’s more like New York City. Have you ever been there?”
“No” she shook her head as she spotted her best friend appear from the other side of the tube, “Oh. Zoey’s done,” she added when she saw her friend wave back over at her with a smile.
“Well, looks like it’s my turn” he grinned and stepped under the beam and then into the tube.
A couple moments later he also appeared on the other side and stood next to Zoey.
“It’s your turn Miss,” the red head said with a smile catching her attention.
“Oh. Okay” Kit nodded as she walked under the beam and then finally into the tube as the others had done.
Once inside she saw the flashing lights all around her. She could hear the sounds of the crowds of people walking around the Convention Center. As she stood there she couldn’t help but wonder if the red head had deceived her.
“Nothing is happening” she replied as she stood under another unquestionable beam that was above her head and green in color, “No wait” she paused as she felt a sensation throughout her body, “No that is not true.”
Outside the red head read the screen of her laptop and frowned slightly as she saw the information coming up on the screen.

Meanwhile on the other side of town the information was appearing on the large computer that the tall man was sitting in front of. He immediately stood from his chair in surprise as he saw the data.
“I think we have a match!” he called to his master who rushed in right away just as the computer began to beep loudly, “Oh no.”
“What’s wrong?” the young teen asked his eyes wide.
“I think it’s time,” the older man said out of breath.
The teen nodded and grabbed his black leather jacket putting it on in a hurry.
“Master Evan what are you doing?”
“I’m going to the Convention Center” the boy answered, “Now is as good as time as any to test her abilities” he dashed out of the room leaving the man to deal with the data on the computer.

When Kit finished she exited from the tube and walked over to her friends barely noticing that the red head was eyeing her intensely.
“Well that was an experience” she replied with her arms crossed.
“I’ll say” Adam nodded with another handsome smile that made Kit about melt, “But what kind of experience?”
“Well I don’t know about you two, but I thought it was kind of fun” Zoey grinned.
“Maybe” Kit nodded, “I am a little thirsty right now though.”
“I tell you what” Adam said, “I saw a vendor over there. I’ll go get something to drink for us.”
“Thank you” Zoey answered before he took off, “Well isn’t he prince charming.”
“Zoey.”
“Well he is” she insisted, “And he really seems to like you.”
“What makes you think that?” Kit’s cheeks turned slightly pink.
“Oh I can tell,” she replied slyly, “Huh?” she heard shouts from outside, “What’s going on I wonder?”
“I don’t know” Kit shook her head as Adam returned with three cups of soda.
But as he arrived the earth shook knocking them off their feet. Adam stood up without the cups this time and rushed over to help them up.
“Are you guys okay?” he asked in concern as all around them the people were also trying to stand.
“I think so” Kit nodded as he helped her up and Zoey stood to her own feet.
“That was an awful big earthquake,” he said.
“That’s weird” Kit shook her head, “We don’t get earthquakes in Boston. Right Zoey? Zoey?” she looked at her friend quizzically who was staring up at the glass ceiling her face completely white.
Her eyes wide and shaking head from toe she pointed up.
“What is that?” she asked in a terrified voice as they heard the many shrieks coming from outside.
Kit and Adam looked up and saw the form of something green and long. They all ran in the same direction as the panicked people and found themselves outside where several people were running their way. Once outside they saw why. Looming above them a large praying mantis stood above the Convention Center it’s piercing legs aiming for the frightened people.
“That is one big bug,” Kit gasped.
“We got to get out of here!” Zoey shouted to which Kit grabbed her hand and Adam’s and they began to follow the crowd of running people.
Across the way Evan pulled out his binoculars scanning the crowd until he spotted her. Adam was helping Zoey along while Kit took up the rear.
“Found you” Evan said aloud as he dashed forward determined to get to her.
The praying mantis began to move down and stamped its long legs making the ground shake once more. Zoey and Adam lost their balance and just in time managed to get out of the way. Kit who was behind them coughed as the dust was kicked up from around her. The mantis saw an opportunity and lunged for her. But before it could grab her the dark haired teen jumped in, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her out of the way just in time landing unceremoniously on top of her.
Kit opened her eyes and was surprised to see the handsome stranger with blue eyes staring back at her.
“Who?” she began and then saw the position they were in, “What do you think you’re doing?” she shouted pushing him off, “Get off of me!”
“If I hadn’t pulled you out of the way you would have been stamped on” he said with a frown, “You could at least be a little more grateful then you are.”
“Huh? Who are you?” she blinked.
“There is no time for that now. We have work to do.”
“What are you talking about? The only thing I have to worry about is getting back to my friends.”
“What is more important right now are those people, not your friends. You have to do it.”
“What? Do what?” she asked thoroughly confused now as she scratched the back of her head and continued to hear the screaming people.
“Stop the mantis” he replied simply standing.
“Huh? Are you crazy? I can’t stop that thing it’s humongous.”
“You’re the only one who can stop that thing” he insisted as he handed her a yellow bracelet with a cat charm on it.
“What’s this?” she asked looking at the bracelet in her palm perplexed.
“Squeeze it tightly in your hand and then you will know what to do.”
“What? Is this a trick or something?”
“Trust me” he urged, “Squeeze it before it’s too late.”
“But” she protested looking at him wide eyed.
“Do it!” he shouted angrily, “It’s the only way you are going to save your friends!”
“Uh” she gasped and finally stood.
She saw the mantis with it’s terrifying claws looming ever more closer to the spot where Adam and Zoey were hiding. She closed her eyes and then nodded slowly to herself. Then without any hesitation she squeezed her hand and saw the yellow glow around her more and more.
“What?” she whispered as she felt the glow surround her entire body, “What’s happening? What is this feeling?”
Within moments the light glowed brightly enough to fill the whole alley she was standing in. She lifted her hand to the air and cried out one word.
“ ALLEY CAT TRANSFORMATION! ABYSINNIAN!!!!”
Evan watched all this and smiled slightly as the light began to dissipate and the newly transformed girl stood before him.
“Finally. She has been reborn,” he said softly.

Next Time on Alley Cats:
“What is this?” Kit felt the top of her head, “Cat ears? What’s going on here!”
“What is it I am supposed to do?” she complained to Evan who urged her forward.
“Fight!” he shouted as she ran ahead.
“I hope I know what I am doing” she gulped and then jumped out of the way, “I don’t even have a weapon.”
A bow and arrow appear before her one at a time.
“ALLEY CAT ARROW STRIKE!!!!”
“That was so cool!”
