Sway

the sun setting on a hazy purple sky- rose twinkled
lights shining through clouds making cracked pavements
& graffitied trees look like something special. revenge
spitting from heaven in the form of rain, & reflections
fluctuating on the glass window until
they’ve smudged into yesterday.

you shut your eyes & clenched your fists &
sang, with the sound seeping silently
through your teeth like blood through my
fingertips. & turning away from what was
written in stars you fell too fast into
hard to break habits
that twist themselves into regrets-
but-

imperfection
had never been so beautiful.
