Inhuman beings have always been amongst us. The human race itself had never been aware of the presence of such beings until a few years before WWI.

An unknown man displayed his discovery with the presentation of an inhuman being with wings in Rostov-on-Don, Russia in 1900. The creature is what many religions and mythologists have described as an “angel”. Since the discovery of the creature, the paranormal kind has appeared worldwide, creating not only much controversy but a panic between the major world powers. To avoid any kind of war, the human governments established Cult Halo 13 in secrecy, an agency seeking to collect and classify all paranormal kind. Since its establishment, the paranormal kind has served humans.

After WWI began, the angel-like creature was used as a weapon to prevent the Central Powers from gaining dominance over the Allies. Being considered of Russian origin, the creature was dubbed simply “Rostov” and was a violent force until the assassination of the tsar in 1918, wherein the creature was presumably destroyed. However, in the tides of the 1990's, the remains of the angel were found but were insubstantial for any major reconstruction. The scientists of the current Russian empire removed the technology used to tame the previous Rostov, and, under the jurisdiction of Cult Halo 13 took a child from a local aristocratic family of the last name Romanovich. The female child was implanted with a newer chip and the memories of the old Rostov, and kept under the same conditions as Auschwitz until her presumed death in 1999. The child was found in a shallow grave barely alive by the Rogue Paranormal Elimination unit, a group of specialists trained in mercenary work against violent paranormal kind. Because the governments had grown more merciful towards paranormals at the time, the child was taken to an adoption agency where, at the age of four, she was adopted by a German doctor and his family.

We are not sure how dangerous the child may have been at the time...
