Cold drops of rain fall onto my already wet black jacket causing it to turn an even darker color. I could hear the grinding of the horse’s hoofs against the wet ground. The hoofs throwing water upon my soggy white tennis shoes and further damping my jeans. The red animal beneath me snorts as she gallops, and shaking her head wildly.

“Whoa.” I say in a shaky voice trying my best to calm her down. It doesn’t help not to my surprise. Just as I turn my head a giant crack lightens up the cloudy sky. A storm is coming that’s what she been telling me. I force my numb body forward in the saddle, digging my feet into her side. She responds by tossing her head again but with more aggression and fury. Jumping violently when the lighting and thunder crash to the earth.

“Go!” I scream, she runs rapidly though the bare field flinging balls of mud into my drenched face making it hard to see. I clutch the wet leather as if it is the last thing I will ever hold. I feel the mare’s hoofs pounding though the wind and rain, the sound as strong as thunder. A feel another crash but not of thunder but myself. I stumble up wiping the mud away from my face with the back of my hand.

“Throw me will you!” No use the growing storm only weakens my cries. The horse gallops rider less to home leaving to walk the rest of the way though the wet and the rain.
