We stay awake through the week,
Caffeine flowing through our bloodstream as if it was meant to be there.
All these drugs, our bodies use them like oxygen,
And we ignore the side effects.

This is the best place to be,
If we don’t fit in we won’t worry because our senses have been numbed.
We’ve been accepted, we’re going to carry on doing these things we do,
Exactly how we’ve always done it.
We’ve grown to expect this,
And nothing else.

We meet at the station,
Music in the background that we fell asleep to every night
Of that year we couldn’t quite cope.
We connected over the yelled names and our one common interest and
Many short comings and insecurities.
We drink to be alone.
We drink because of the loneliness that follows.
We drink so that we don’t have to know.

We can’t listen to the voices in our head,
The angel’s gone and we are all left sociopathic,
Unable to realize that the damage to our health out ways
Everything good we do for our bodies.
It’s our minds that need the work, but if we go down our bodies won’t know what to do,
Their instincts tell them to keep standing, while we’re constantly trying to drag them down.

We need a problem that people can hold onto,
So if our faulty minds aren’t enough,
And usually they’re not,
Then we will create problems that beg for interference
Like nothing you ever want to hear
Crying your name.
