Somehow its like she swallowed her tongue

Dined on vital organs

And that of course which makes perfect sense

Is flat across the pavement

Face up, unrecognizable

Like the redundant question asked one too many times

Like her breathing pores pocketing acid in her lungs

Burn the hairs of neighbours

Which stood to attention on the backs of unsuspecting necks

And those dingy truck stop jukeboxes

Played her favourite song

So it’s like her feet follow her shadow

And her shadow is committing suicide

What’s next?

Mother Earth with her legs spread

While the whole world is on their hands and knees.
