Innocence

We told ourselves we'd never do drugs
What are we doing getting high?
Told ourselves we'd never smoke
That was another lie

We said that we'd never steal
Yet shop lifting is a crime
Our parents preached that alcohol was bad
Still we drink it all the time

We said we'd always have good faith
Now some of us have fled
We promised ourselves we'd wait til marriage
Now each night's a different bed

We boasted that media couldn't control us
Despite us starving to be thin
Though we were once confident
Now we're afraid to look within

Oh look how we've changed
From childhood to now
I want to go back to innocence
If only I knew how
