My goal today was to take down the christmas tree.
now usually we leave it for months.
i think the longest it was out was around the end of march.
yeah, we're either a lazy family, or are unusually festive people.
but yesterday my fathers asked me to take it down tomorrow.
so i agreed.
how foolish of me, now i realise.
this is no ordinary xmas tree.
this tree comes in bits.
the branches are to be hooked on to a pole /trunk
wrapped in sum green fuzzy stuff that itches.
the branches have to be taken off and tied up in groups,
coz they have to go on specific layers depending on the branch size. eg: big branches go on bottom ect
i began with pulling off the tinsel.
and i ended up breaking it to un-tangle it from the lights.
should have took the lights off first.
so i abandoned the tinsel and tried the lights.
but alas, they tangle once more.
baubles bounce on the concrete around me
and then the top of the tree falls off.
darn, i forgot the pole/trunk was in parts too.
the tree is now in two pieces, standing in the hallway.
have you ever noticed how sad
a christmas tree looks with its top half missing?
quite, unusual.
