A Summary of my Book of Scraps

This is a collect of random one-shots, experiments, etc. that have no better place to be. They aren’t limited to a particular genre, so if you’re looking for something specific read below or random click.

Summaries:

Pickles

Genre: Romance, Young Adult, (plot with a twist)

Summary: What a way to end the summer: being bugged by your little sister right after you’ve just had a big fight with your best friend. Time might be running out, but there’s always time for change… at least, you can dream that.

Notes: Ends with a twist, which is the point. A short one-shot I wrote late last night because I felt like writing something random. And no, I haven’t had any pickles to eat for a while.

Length: 664 words

Rating: K/K+

Biotine

Genre: Parody, ‘Romance,’ Poetry

Summary: “How do I love thee, Cellular Respiration? Let me count the ways…” How to serenade a biological process.

Notes: A poem I wrote for AP Biology to review Cellular Respiration. Valentine’s day activity, of course.

Length: 310 words

Rating: T – For scientific words

Forest for Thought

Genre: Parody, Humor, Essay

Summary: The strangest things scare little kids. Ever watched Ferngully? The rainforests are actually being destroyed? I’ve was scarred for life… this is the story.

Notes: A narrative essay for English class on something that “scarred me for life.” Ferngully, that’s for sure.

Length: 618 words

Rating: K/K+

Betrayal

Genre: Parody, Drama, Action

Summary: A one-shot about the betrayal of Justin, and how he seeks revenge. A unconnected Elements of our Days fantasy.

Notes: I wrote this for my friend, Justin, in band class because he was having a bad day and he is always asking me if his character will finally get killed off in Elements of our Days.

Length: 437 words

Rating: T (a bit of violence)

Color My World

Genre: Young Adult, Irony, Romance,

Summary: Cheap jeans, worthless concert tickets, ruined relationships… life never made sense. Not that she expected it to, but she always had this hope that each new day would turn into an adventure where she could defeat evil, find her true love, and find her happy ending. Little did she realize, however, that happiness was only a pair of sunglasses away.

Notes: Something random I wrote, and I think it’s written better than most of my stuff. It’s kind of dark, not my usual style. No idea what was going through my head.

Length: 899 words

Rating: T for scary concerts! Lol, jk
